Workshops · any group size
Come andmake a mess
Come on your own, bring a friend, or bring the whole lot — group sizes are open. Tell me how many of you there are and I'll set the studio up to match.
An hour or a few, one gun, zero experience needed
-
Design it
We sketch your idea onto the cloth. Keep it simple for a first rug — bold shapes tuft beautifully, fine detail does not.
-
Learn the gun
How to hold it, how fast to move, how to not punch a hole through your frame. You'll practise on scrap first.
-
Tuft the thing
The loud, satisfying part. Fill your design in colour by colour. This is where the time disappears.
-
Finish it
Glue the back, carve the pile, bind the edge. You leave with a finished rug, not a project to complete at home.
Three ways to spend an afternoon
Everything is provided — gun, frame, cloth, yarn, glue, and an apron you will definitely need.
Before you book
Do I need any experience?
None at all. Most people have never held a tufting gun. That's the point. If you'd rather not make it yourself, I also take custom rug commissions.
What should I wear?
Something you don't mind getting yarn fluff and glue on. Closed shoes. Tie long hair back — the gun is enthusiastic.
Can I book a session just for my own group?
Yes — most people do. Ask me about dates and tell me how many of you are coming, and the session is yours: a pair, a birthday group, a team day out, whatever it is. Bigger groups just need a bit more notice so I can get enough frames and guns ready.
Is there an age limit?
14 and up. The gun has a needle in it and it's not a toy. Under 16s need an adult in the room.
What if I need to reschedule?
Let me know 48 hours ahead and we'll move it, no charge. Less than that and I've already bought your yarn.
Grab a session
Tell me roughly when suits and I'll come back with the dates I've got open. Sessions run on weekends and some weekday evenings.
